The Simple Writing System is a miracle!
I spent 2008 like a lost puppy. I couldn’t figure out what to do with the rest of my life.
On a whim, I joined the SWS in October 2008. I fell in love with copywriting. I graduated and did my first few letters for my own real estate business.
Then I fearfully took my first freelance job. I did it for zero upfront since they knew I was a newbie. I assumed it would be a practice run I’d never get paid for. To make things worse, a friend who tried his hand at copywriting said there was little chance of making over a few thousand dollars per letter for many years.
I followed the 17 step SWS to the letter, double-checking every step. I didn’t know if it was all true, but I did it in faith. The letter was up against a new letter from a seasoned pro. (They paid him $10,000 for it.) After I completed the letter, the business told me they were raising the price of the item from $79 to $149 before the mailing. Another speedbump to the letter’s success.
Fast forward one year. The letter destroyed the seasoned writer’s letter. It is mailing its fourth big batch. I have made $22,730 in commission from it so far, and the client is getting ready to mail a whole lot more.
